Gabe's big catch

Can you believe it's been a whole year since I last went fishing? Dave and Gabe go pretty often but I'm usually too lazy to get my fishing license. I've always loved to fish and I had a blast yesterday fishing with Dave and Gabe in the creek behind Dan and Nancy's house. Although I spent most of my time untangling the bird's nests in my fishing line and didn't catch a thing, I did enjoy the sunshine and had fun taking pictures of Gabe with his "big" catch.

Gabe was the only one of us to catch a fish. He landed the little sucker all by himself but wasn't quite sure if he was going to actually touch it or not. Sheesh, give that kid a butter knife and a slab of meat in Dave's shop and he'll saw on it all day but do you think he'd grab a slimy little fish? Not without some coaxing! Here's some of the cutest pictures:

What a beautiful place, huh?

April Showers???

Sheesh, is it ever going to warm up? It's been sleeting off and on all day today. Dave keeps giving me crap because I call it frozen fog but what the heck, I can call it whatever I want right? It certainly isn't snow-- and it isn't rain-- but it reminds me of those frozen ice cream pellets you can get at the fair. For the life of me I can't remember what they're called but here's the proof:

Here's a few more...

I was able to get a total of 4 layouts and one scrappy project out of the Scrapbooker's Club House kit this month. Rusty Pickle is one of my favorite manufacturers and I sure enjoyed working with the Lucky line. Thank goodness the weather has been crappy because it sure has made it easy to stay inside and scrap. Once the weather warms up though...look out because my flower beds need some serious work! Here are those layouts I was talking about:

Challenge Week at SBCH has been a blast!

I have had so much fun creating projects for Challenge Week at Scrapbooker's Club House. Nicole did a terrific job of keeping the challenges fun and very easy to accomplish. If you get a chance, stop by and check out the gallery to see all of the wonderful projects everyone completed.

Here are a few that I created for this week's challenges:

This LO was for the paper only challenge. These pictures were some of my favorites of Gabe hunting easter eggs this year.

This is now truly one of my favorite layouts, not only because it's the girls, but the challenge was to use a transparency and felt on the same layout. Wow, I have never worked with transparencies before but I sure do love the way it came out.

The object of this challenge was to use writing or printed words on a photo. The layout is very plain for my style but I finally got to break out the Basic Grey Archaic Line. LOVE IT!

This last layout is quite purple but the challenge was to use beads and/or sequins as a main focal point of the layout. I individually glued each one of those stinkin' little beads down on the wings of the butterfly. Although the challenge was a stretch for me (and I loved it) I don't care to do that again!! LOL
