"Honey, guess what?"

When you're married to a redneck that statement is never a good sign. On Saturday afternoon Dave called and said those very words. "Honey, guess what...we're pig farmers now!" I said, "what??" ...Yep, we're pig farmers now. Dave and his brothers were driving around Dufur with 6 wiener pigs in the back of his truck. Thank goodness he only brought home two because I can't imagine what I would have done with 6!

So I headed back to Redmond for the second time that day-- but this time it was to the feed store to figure out what in the heck I was going to feed the pigs. Thank goodness the girl was nice because she took pity on me and didn't laugh too loud. I found out that you feed pigs "Hog Grow" and it comes in 50# bags. My life will never be dull again.

Too bad they are such cute little buggers because I'm already attached.

Pumpkin Patch

On Saturday we went to the pumpkin patch and trekked through the corn maze. This years theme was dragons and castles (or something like that) and the maze had two sections. We managed to make it through the first section before the whining began. Gabe was "sooo essausted (exhausted in Gabe-speak)" and it just wasn't worth dragging him through the second section of the maze even though mom and I wanted to go. That was 15 bucks well spent...

Probably the best part of the whole day for me was the caramel apple. Mmmm, it was so fresh and yummy! Gabe and mom had a funnel cake with strawberry topping which was pretty tasty too. This is definitely my favorite time of year!

My caramel apple...still warm...

Can you believe...

Dave is already teaching Gabe how to shoot a BB gun? Ugh...I came home from work the other night and thats exactly what they were doing. At first I couldn't watch but then I decided I couldn't miss the photo opportunity. He's going to have to learn how to do it someday, I suppose it might as well be now. Yikes!

High School Football

I've sure enjoyed watching varsity football this year since Tanner has been playing every game. They've got him playing both offense and defense on the line and when the games are over he's pretty tired. Unfortunately, our team hasn't won a game but since Tanner is only a Sophomore he's getting a ton of experience. Here's a few pictures taken by a proud mommy...

Fun new layouts

It seems like I've been so preoccupied with my added responsibilities at work that I've neglected by blog and lost my mojo!! Just kidding, I've still got it...my mojo that is. Here are some of my newest layouts.

"Cutie Country Boys" was created for one of my design team projects for Scrapbook Dreamer. I cut up one of the bandanas that the boys wore that day and sewed it to the layout. Came out cute.

I created "Happy Boy" for a sketch challenge at Citrus Tree Studio. I changed it up some from the original sketch but I like how it turned out.

Believe it or not, Gabe is not always happy! LOL. His latest saying is "Mom, you ruined my whole life!" I usually say "your whole life?" and he covers his little face and says "yes, my whole life". Oh, the drama.

Finally, this is a layout I created with some of our beach pictures. I stitched around the edge of the big circle with twine. Love it!!
