Jefferson County Fair

As usual the fair seems to get smaller and smaller each year but this year it was the most fun because Gabe had a blast! He finally figured out what the carnival was all about and the $25 investment we made to purchase an "all day" bracelet for the rides paid off in a big way. He rode the majority of the rides with his cousins but I managed to get him to go on the Ferris Wheel with me. I haven't done that in a long time and wow, it was fun! Here's some of the pictures:





Look at this picture of Tanner, isn't he a cutie? As usual there's a swarm of girls around him and his friends. Ugh, he is sooo 15.



Tanner helped us decorate the hospital fair float this year and he even walked along side me to hand out goodies. I know he's going growl at me for posting this picture of he and Gabe but I just couldn't resist!

Lots of New Layouts and Projects

I've been creating like crazy lately and it feels really great. Here is some of my newest stuff:

Water Baby was created based on a sketch by Monika Martinson. I love the simplicity of this one since I'm not usually one who can use white space to my advantage!







I did a Make 'N Take Class at SBCH using the Ric-Rac Flower on this layout. Here is a close-up:



This one is a little tough for me to post since it isn't quite my style. I did it for a quote challenge and the layout had to be monochromatic. It's a little blahh but here it is:



Finally, I love this little card. Nicole Drewniak at SBCH designed this little popsicle card as a Make 'N Take and here is my interpretation:

4th of July Camping

As usual I'm late getting our 4th of July pictures posted. This year we did something a little different and went camping at Haystack Reservoir with Dave's brother Jim, his wife Alex, their son Karl, and my mom. Dave was sick as a dog but managed to try to have a good time. Here are some of the pics:

Missing my creativity

I've sure been missing my creativity after not being in my scrap room for the past few weeks. Although I am really enjoying summer and being outside, there is just something about the creative process that keeps me going. I spent some time downstairs last night and created a few new layouts. One is for a crop challenge next month and the other I am just plain in love with. When I came upstairs to show Dave my new creation he said, "where you been? How long have you been down there?" First of all...he was obviously sleeping on the couch with remote in hand when I went down there because I distinctly remember talking to him...and second...doesn't it feel great to be missed?? LOL, yeah right! I suppose he would have come looking for me eventually.

July Kit Reveal at Scrapbooker's Club House

Today is reveal day at Scrapbooker's Club house! The kit we got to work with is called Jade's Garden and it's some really pretty stuff. Here are three of the layouts I created with the kit and the fourth one I will show later.

Memorial Day Weekend

Ok, so I'm a little behind with my blogging but what else is new for me. Since I was on-call for the hospital, and too cheap to spend $4 gallon for gas, we spent Memorial Day weekend camping in our driveway. We ordered pizza delivery (I know who gets pizza delivered when you're camping?!) and Dave fired up the patio fireplace so we could make smores. We had a great time and Dave and Gabe actually slept in the camper for two nights! It wasn't quite as good as the real deal but it just goes to show you that you can make your own adventure anywhere you are. Here are some pics:
