Hats

Gabe's latest obsession is hats. It doesn't matter what size or what style...just anything he grabs. Here is a picture I took of him yesterday playing outside. As you can tell he was pretty irritated with me for taking his picture.

Sneak Peek Day

I love sneak peek day at Citrus Tree Studio. April's kit features Scribble Scrabble's "Evelyn" Collection and a few sheets of October Afternoon's "Night Lite" line. Talk about fun stuff!

Here's a sneak peek of a few of my projects:

Are you excited yet?

Personal scrapping

I spent a little time in my scrap room today doing some personal scrapping. What I mean by personal scrapping is I actually created something that wasn't for a design team project or a challenge example...it was a baby shower gift for my niece who is having a baby in a few weeks. It seems like it's been forever since I've done any personal scrapping and it felt really good! Here is my little altered flip-up photo album:

Challenges at CTS

The challenges are now posted at Citrus Tree Studio for the month of March. My challenge this month is to use the color combination of turquoise, cream and brown. I love using these colors and here is the quick little layout I created for my challenge example.

This is a picture of Gabe from one of our camping trips in 2007. I can't believe I haven't scrapped this picture before. It's too cute!

Perfection...not!

Trust me, I'm not a perfectionist but there are just some things about my layouts that drive me crazy. Unfortunately, I can't manage to leave them alone sometimes until I know they are "just right"--for whom? ...who knows. Certainly not anyone but me in most cases.

So what I'm talking about are these next two layouts. I created both of them for Scrapbook Dreamer this month. I uploaded them to the gallery and during that process I decided I didn't like something about each of them. The first one was the font of the lettering in the bottom part of the title. I changed it to a different style of Thickers and now I finally like it.

This next one was all about the picture placement. I had it too high and once I moved it down a little it made me happier.

I enjoyed working with the Basic Grey Marrakech line this month. The colors of the paper are so bright and vibrant. I'm not usually a Basic Grey fan but I give this line two thumbs up.

New Scrappy Projects

I have a ton of new scrappy projects to show you! First, it is reveal day at Citrus Tree Studio. This month Cindy put together a beautiful kit using the August Collection from Marks Paper Co. The paper is wonderful because it looks like fabric!

The first layout is my little cousin Rachel. She is such a cutie and I love this picture of her feeding the birds...

The CTS "In the Garden" kit has a little take-out box in it. This was the first time I've altered one of these boxes and I found it to be fun and really easy to put together. I added my own ribbon, wire, and buttons and look how cute it turned out.

Tanner and his date getting ready for Cinderella Ball:

Finally, this is an older picture of Dave and Gabe crossing Fifteen-mile creek while fishing last spring. It is such a wonderful picture of the two of them and it'll always be one of my favorites.

A little card I did last weekend for Cindy's Quick-Fire Challenge. I used a template from the March/April Paper Crafts Magazine that was posted on the CK website:

I also did some fun layouts for Scrapbook Dreamer this month. The first is goofy gabe. He was so excited to go see his cousin last weekend and this is how he dressed himself before we left. Helllllo, how could you not take of picture of this?? Oh yeah, I've since rearranged the title because the word "charming" was making me crazy.

The following picture isn't the best since I took it tonight. I created my own little tile embellishments out of patterned paper, chipboard and UTEE. They turned out great and it was my first try using UTEE. A word of caution though...melt the stuff on a heat-safe surface--not on a plastic craft table! Ooops, probably not one of my brighter moves.

The patterned paper on this one is the Basic Grey Marrakech line. Pretty stuff.
